About PDF to Excel converter

Financial reports, invoices, and data exports are often shared as PDFs, but if you need to analyse, filter, or chart the data, you need it in a spreadsheet. DocumentFlipper extracts tabular data from PDFs and outputs a clean .xlsx file that you can open and edit immediately.

Our conversion engine identifies rows, columns, and cell boundaries in PDF tables and maps them accurately to Excel cells. Multi-page tables, nested headers, and merged cells are all handled. For PDFs that contain multiple tables, each table is placed on a separate sheet in the workbook.

If your PDF was created by scanning a paper document and does not contain selectable text, use the OCR PDF tool first to add a text layer. All files are processed securely and deleted within two hours.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of PDFs work best?
PDFs with clearly structured tables, reports, financial statements, and data exports work best. Scanned PDFs or image-based tables may require OCR first.
Will all data be extracted?
Tables are extracted accurately. Unstructured prose text is not included. If your PDF is primarily text-based, try PDF to Word instead.
Can I open it in Google Sheets?
Yes — .xlsx files open directly in Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and any modern spreadsheet application.
What about scanned PDFs?
Scanned PDFs require OCR first. Use our OCR PDF tool to make the text selectable, then convert to Excel.
Is there a page limit?
You can convert PDFs up to 100MB. There is no hard page limit, but very large documents may take longer to process.
